Associate Professor Cecily Hengstberger-Sims

Biography

Cecily Hengstberger-Sims is the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Studies and the Associate Head of School for Campbelltown campus within the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UWS. She has been involved in nurse education at UWS for over 20 years and maintained a current clinical profile and experience until recent years. She was the foundation Director of the Graduate Nurse Research and Practice Unit ( now known as Centre for Applied Nursing Research, a joint UWS and South Western Sydney Area Health Service initiative). Her teaching areas include nursing research, leadership and management. Research and scholarly interests include Transition to Graduate Practice, Workforce Issues and Education Issues Surrounding Preparation for Practice. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing Australia and the College of Nursing, Foundation member of the UWS Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
