What has been your best experience at UWS so far?
Recently, I was lucky enough to be one of the recipients of the UWS William Chiu Scholarship to study at the University of Economics and Finance at Shanghai, China. The scholarship not only allows me to study abroad but it also provides a subsidy to assist with the cost of living and various expenses.
This is an amazing opportunity as I am very interested in international relations and going on this exchange will allow me to develop a greater understanding and appreciation for the world around me.
Also, being a member of the UWS Aspire program has been one of the most amazing experiences, as I have been given multiple opportunities to enhance my leadership skills and meet the most inspirational people. Through the program I have made lifelong friends who are like-minded and driven, while networking with business professionals from various industries.
What will we find you doing outside of your studies?
I currently work for the Commonwealth Bank as a collections officer, rehabilitating and ensuring that customers’ accounts are up to date.
Besides working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and am currently assisting my church choir.
How would your friends describe you?
I guess my friends would describe me as passionate and determined, although I know some that might add that I stress over everything.
I am passionate about …
International relations and foreign affairs, as I am eager to learn about the interactions between countries and nations. This is something that I follow closely and enjoy debating with family and friends.
Essentially, the relationship between countries is something that is very important for every global citizen to be aware of, as the implications of various decisions impact everyone.
When I graduate, I hope to …
Work for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, which would hopefully land me a position in the United Nations Security Council, which is an audacious goal for me.
