UWS is successfully improving quality

AUQA

Over the past five years UWS has taken a wide range of steps to improve the quality of the total UWS student experience.

Students have set the priorities for improvement, through many surveys and student focus groups, and results are showing this has paid off.

Not only has UWS seen a rise of 25% in overall student satisfaction on the national Course Experience Questionnaire, but also an increase of almost 4% in students staying on to graduate.

This is of great importance to UWS because we know that if students have a high quality experience and graduate successfully, their life opportunities are profoundly improved – especially those who are the first in their family to attend university.

From Monday 9 May to Thursday 12 May, UWS will be visited by the Australian Universities Quality Agency (AUQA). AUQA is interested in what UWS is doing to assure academic standards and quality and how we are helping our students make a successful transition into university study.

It is important that the AUQA panel not only talk with staff but with our students. With this in mind we are contacting students from a wide range of courses and backgrounds to meet with the panel over lunch to discuss their experiences.
