Policy Analysis
With an increasing emphasis across the sector on reporting and responding to calls for commentary, proposals or specific feedback; policy analysis is an integral part of the work of the Office of Higher Education Policy and Projects (OHEPP).
A dedicated Senior Policy Officer, working together with the OHEPP team, seeks to meet UWS Executive needs with regards to Higher Education policy issues, political party policies, emerging issues from international policies and monitoring the higher education sector environment, including statutory and regulatory changes.
Services include:
- Monthly Higher Education Newsletter;
- Developing policy papers, submissions and reports to government, relevant inquiries, and sector forums or organisations.
- Preparing policy papers, summaries, reports, and presentations to or for senior staff and university committees;
- Drafting reports, briefing papers, media material and providing information sessions and presentations on higher education policy issues relevant to UWS;
- Leading and working on priority policy areas, as identified by the UWS Executive;
- High level advice and research on current and emerging higher education policy developments and opportunities; and
- Coordination of the UWS Senior Staff Forum.
The Office of Higher Education Policy and Projects covers work across higher education policy issues impacting on UWS, reporting obligations to the government, co-ordinating and drafting major funding applications, projects as determined by the Executive and government relations.
