OH&S consultation committees are established at the executive, division, college, school and department level.
Whereas all OH&S committees operate autonomously and deal with 'local' matters, division, college, school and department committees are also able to refer OH&S matters that are complex and/or are likely to impact the entire University, to the Executive OH&S Committee for further discussion and resolution.
The UWS Executive OH&S Committee functions as the peak advisory body to the Vice-Chancellor and Board of Trustees on occupational health, safety and rehabilitation management within the University.
The Executive OH&S Committee is ultimately responsible for ensuring that divisions, colleges, schools and departments have developed and implemented appropriate strategies and measures to meet the due diligence requirements of the New South Wales Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000 and the workers compensation and rehabilitation legislation.
