Coaching for Performance

Facilitator/Trainer Anthony Critchley
Intended for Managers and Supervisors
Pre-Work Participants must complete the following online modules either before or after you attend the one day workshop:

These modules explain how to navigate MyCareer Online for approving your team’s performance objectives and development plans, and for completing the performance reviews online.

Description

All supervisors and managers are expected to undertake training in the University's Compass Program. Compass is about setting a clear direction for the planning of work and aligning this to the University's strategy and School, Centre or Unit goals. It is also about providing staff with the guidance and support to navigate the various career pathways and development opportunities at UWS.

This one-day workshop for supervisors and managers focuses on the techniques and skills for engaging staff in coaching conversations about performance, on communicating clear expectations, and on collaborative goal setting and problem-solving.

*Please Note: Coaching for Performance is a module within the Inspire Leadership Program.

This workshop will enable participants to:

  • describe the key elements of the Compass Program [planning, goal setting, performance feedback, career development]
  • apply an effective process for identifying levels of performance, managing expectations and influencing others

This workshop is subsidised by the University. If you do not attend and do not inform us at least 72 hours before the workshop, your unit will be charged a fee of $50.00
