Description
This workshop has been designed to nurture participants inner lives and encourage a commitment to looking after all of one’s self. “Whatever our background, culture, race, what rewards us most powerfully and consistently are the most deceptively simple abilities of all: the ability to be kind, to live enthusiastically and creatively, to appreciate and understand experiences different from our own, and to sustain a sense of inner stability and trust even in unwelcome and difficult situations.” (Dowrick, 2005, Choosing Happiness: Life & Soul Essentials: p4)
Learning Outcomes
This program will enable participants to:
- Demonstrate the ability to be centred, focussed and aware
- Apply daily well-being strategies for work/life balance
- Identify a gratitude action plan
- Explore ways to make the ordinary, extraordinary
What to bring?
Loose fitting clothing, a blanket or foam mat, small cushion(s), notebook, pen, a hat and sun screen for outdoor activities, and a small object that is sacred or special to you.

About the facilitator:
Dr Neil Davidson is a Practitioner and former Lecturer and Researcher in the areas of Wellbeing, PDHPE (Personal Development, Health & Physical Education) and Spirituality at the University of Western Sydney (UWS). Neil's main areas of interest are K-12 PDHPE teacher education, spiritual growth, social justice, connecting with nature, and living-in-the-moment. His experience in the private and public tertiary sectors ranges from teaching, research, administration and governance in Australia, co-ordination of international teacher education practicum programs, professional soccer, state level athletics to pennant level golf.
