Description
Approaching or working with others when there is a perceived conflict can seem difficult or overwhelming. Understanding our own responses to conflict, adopting a different attitude and using effective communication skills can assist enormously. This practical one-day workshop focuses on the strategies and skills for effectively communicating with others to confidently manage potential conflict situations in one-to-one and team situations.
Topics include:
- a model for communication
- active listening and assertiveness
- problem ownership
- identifying personal strengths
- areas to strengthen.
Learning Objectives
This workshop will enable participants to:
- identify problems in communication and where the responsibilities lie
- demonstrate active listening - an essential and key skill for effective communication
- demonstrate a three-step framework for communicating assertively
- state the 12 road blocks to effective listening
- review and plan a four-step process to a courageous conversation.
