Description
Injuries that arise from manual handling activities account for a significant proportion of workplace injuries in Australia. This module demonstrates manual handling and illustrates how you can avoid injury.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this module you will:
- understand how the human body bears load
- know where hip joints are located and how to use this knowledge to assist in lifting, carrying and bending
- recognise and be able to avoid destructive energy in movement
- understand when it is necessary to have manual handling risk assessments carried out.
This module is part of the Organisational Knowledge and Policies program.
