Academic Integration Plans - The Nuts and Bolts

Intended for UWS staff members and academic staff in particular, that need to be familiar with the relevant Commonwealth disability legislation to effectively implement Academic Integration Plans (AIP) for students with disabilities.
Description
This module will enable you to implement Academic Integration Plans (AIP) for students. By completing this module you will:- gain knowledge about the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) (1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005)
- develop an understanding of your legal responsibilities to students with disabilities enrolled at UWS
- be able to identify examples of educational ‘reasonable adjustments’
- know how to inform staff on how UWS provides ‘reasonable adjustments’
- be able to inform staff why AIPs are developed, the assessment process, evidence required and the distribution process
- be aware of the roles and responsibilities of University staff in the implementation of the AIP
