UWS campuses are restricted parking areas. When on a UWS campus you must park in accordance with the UWS Parking and Traffic Policy. This includes displaying a valid parking permit on the front windscreen of your vehicle and parking in the correct bay for your permit.
UWS operates a paid parking system on all campuses, with the exception of Nirimba Education Precinct (Blacktown campus), which is governed by a community title.
One day parking permits
Pay and Display one day parking permits
Pay and Display one day parking permits are available from the permit machines in the parking areas of each campus (refer to Parking maps for exact locations of the permit machines). Permit machines accept cash (coins only) and credit cards and allow you to park in yellow bays at all campuses with the exception of Parramatta South where a Pay and Display permit entitles the holder to park in a blue bay.
Individuals intending to park within commercial parking areas at UWS must display a valid permit.
Scratch and Display one day parking permits
Scratch and Display one day parking permits are available for UWS divisions, units and schools to purchase in multiples of 10. Scratch and Display permits entitle the holder to park in yellow parking bays only, except on Parramatta South campus where a Scratch and Display one day parking permit will entitle the holder to park in a blue bay.
Requests for Scratch and Display one day parking permits must be submitted by completing the Scratch and Display One Day Parking Permit Order Form.
Annual and half year parking permits
Annual parking permits are valid up to 31 December of the year of purchase. Half year parking permits are valid from 1 January to 30 June or 1 July to 31 December of the year of purchase.
Note: Only General Yellow, Restricted Orange and Communal Blue permits can be purchased as half year permits. Dedicated Red permits are only available for purchase as an annual permit.
Parking at UWS campuses
UWS endeavours to provide sufficient parking bays on all campuses, however, the purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee the availability of a parking bay. If you are unable to locate a parking bay on campus please contact the on-site security office for assistance.
UWS assumes no responsibility for the care or protection of vehicles or their contents while driven or parked on UWS campuses. Please refer to the UWS Parking and Traffic Policy for further details.
Pedestrians have the right of way at all times at UWS. Vehicles are restricted to 40 km/hr on UWS campuses. Traffic signage must be obeyed while driving on UWS campuses.
Australian Road Rules (opens in a new window) apply when driving on UWS roads.
Alternatives to parking on campus
At the beginning of each teaching period demand for parking on some UWS campuses is expected to exceed availability. Drivers are encouraged to explore other options for travelling to UWS (i.e. bus or train) or allow extra time for locating available parking.
Full details on alternatives to parking are available on the Getting to Uni webpage.
