Parking at Parramatta and Westmead

Parramatta parking information

UWS recognises the demand for parking at the Parramatta South campus exceeds the availability of parking bays. There are significant heritage protection issues associated with Parramatta campus which restricts parking management and development options.

To manage the continuing demand for parking at Parramatta campus UWS has restricted parking on Parramatta South campus to Communal Blue permit, Dedicated Red permit, Restricted Orange permit, White 'HOTSPOT' permit and RTA MPS card holders only.

Pay and Display one day parking permits can be purchased from the permit machines on campus for $9. This will entitle the holder to park in blue bays only.

Yellow parking bays are still available on the Parramatta North campus.

Parramatta North campus is connected to the main campus by a free shuttle bus service which runs approximately every 10-15 minutes between the hours of 6.30am and 10.30pm. The campus is also connected by a walking route which is regularly patrolled by Campus Safety and Security Officers.

In line with the NSW State Government's Metropolitan Transport Plan, the University's long-term goal is to increase the use of public transport by those coming to UWS. Full details on alternatives to parking at UWS are available at the Getting to Uni page.

Westmead parking information

From 2013 carpark P1 at Westmead precinct is a UWS commercial carpark. The purchase of a UWS annual or half year parking permit is not valid for parking in UWS commercial parking areas.

Pay and Display one day parking permits are the only permits valid in the commercial carpark and are available from permit machines for $12. Members of the general public are eligible to park in the commercial carpark at Westmead precinct with a Pay and Display one day parking permit displayed.

Parking areas P2 to P8 are UWS only parking areas, and UWS staff, students and visitors can purchase and display annual and half year permits when parked in these areas. Members of the general public are not eligible to park in Westmead parking areas P2 to P8.

Members of the general public, who are not conducting business with UWS, are no longer eligible to purchase UWS annual and half year permits. Any UWS annual or half year permit purchased by a member of the general public will be cancelled and the purchase fee will be refunded.
