  • How to Make an Appointment

Referrals from you general practitioner, although welcome, are not required.  You can make an appointment at The UWS Psychology Clinic by calling 9772 6686.  If our administrative assistant is unable to answer your call please leave your name and contact details, and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

When you do speak to our administrative assistant you will be asked to provide some basic details including a brief description of the reason you are seeking an appointment at The UWS Psychology Clinic.  As The UWS Psychology Clinic is a centre for Postgraduate training we do not accept referrals from people who are currently suicidal, seriously self harming or psychotic.  We firmly believe that such problems are best treated by fully qualified and experienced practitioners.  We would be happy to recommend more appropriate alternative services under these circumstances.

During this initial brief intake interview you will be offered an appointment with two of our Postgraduate psychology interns.  Appointments are available Wednesdays to Fridays, and we are usually able to offer an appointment within 2 weeks from your intake interview.

    Fees

The UWS Psychology Clinic charges a small upfront fee of $50.00 for all services provided.  This one-off fee applies irrespective of the service provided, eg assessment or therapy, or the number of appointments that occur during the course of treatment.  A course of treatment typically lasts for 10-15 sessions, although additional sessions are available if required.

Following assessment, problem formulation and treatment recommendations, should the interns of the clinic believe that your needs are better met by an alternative service, contact details for that service will be provided to you and the interns will help facilitate your introduction to that service.
