The University engages with the community in its teaching programs with an emphasis on engaged learning, involving student placements and industry experience. The University has a focussed approach to its identified research priorities that address key needs of our communities.

The object of the University under its Act of Incorporation is the promotion of scholarship, research, free enquiry, the interaction of research and teaching, and academic excellence.
