Events, Workshops and Forums

The Learning and Teaching Unit's Blended Learning Team provide professional development to academic and specialist staff in designing and enhancing learning.

The 2013 Learning and Teaching program offers online resources, group sessions (face-to-face, online), forums, showcases, webinars and individual mentoring opportunities.

Webinars have been scheduled to provide greater flexibility and access to the Learning and Teaching professional development and we hope that sessional staff, in particular, will be able to participate in these sessions.

ADE PyramidThe Blended Learning Team work in close partnership with Blended Learning Advisors, Designers and Academic staff in the portfolio of the Interim DVC Education to provide learning and teaching professional development activities that are scaffolded across three levels: acquiring (A), developing (D) and extending (E).

In the first semester, the Learning and Teaching Program will be iPad infused, however in second semester the sessions on designing and enhancing learning will be more prominent.

To help staff use their iPads in teaching, a series of webinars lasting 15-20 minutes each will be available on a weekly basis (first semester only). The sessions will be recorded, include screen shots or live demos to illustrate key aspects of the topic being presented and include examples of suggested apps in teaching. These topics have bubbled up as key areas for professional development from iPad training events held in February 2013.
