The Penrith City Council Local Government Area is located in Western Sydney, approximately 55 minutes from the Sydney CBD. The City has a population of approximately 175,000 people, and has been designated as a growth area over the next 25 years. Penrith is recognised as a Regional River City by the State Government, reflecting its role as a regional hub. Penrith City Council embraces a role which extends beyond being just a service provider for the local community. Council acts as a leader, an advocate, a custodian, a facilitator, an educator, a regulator and also a service leader.
