If you’re interested in getting a local environmental project off the ground, like a community garden, greening an urban space or inner-city veggie patch, the Be Natural Landcare Grants could be just for you.
20 grants of up to $2,500 are available for volunteer community groups to work on projects such as building local community gardens or creating indoor edible gardens within community centres while aiming to get more volunteers involved across community oriented environmental projects. The NSW Environmental Trust is an independent statutory body established by the NSW government to fund a broad range of organisations to undertake projects that enhance the environment of NSW. A Western Sydney Regional Action Plan (opens in a new window) (PDF, 583Kb) is being developed to identify the immediate actions the NSW Government can take to deliver on community priorities, increase opportunities and improve the quality of life for people living in Western Sydney.
The Hawkesbury Nepean Catchment Management Authority is co-ordinating an upgrade of the Hawkesbury Nepean Catchment Action Plan, 2012-2022.
The Hawkesbury Nepean catchment extends from Putty in the north, past Lithgow to the west, through the Blue Mountains, including large areas of Western Sydney and the southern highlands and tablelands.
