Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development
The Regional Centre of Expertise on Education for Sustainable Development – Greater Western Sydney (RCE-GWS) operates in the most rapidly developing area of Australia, Greater Western Sydney.
RCE-GWS vision is to establish itself as a model of how the linked challenges of social, economic and environmental sustainability can be addressed through an integrated process of collaboration. Our partners which include the region's educational institutions, organisations, businesses, community groups and local government, work together on tackling our region's four main sustainability challenges:
- Transitioning to a low carbon economy
- Developing sustainable communities; health, housing and transport
- Ensuring agricultural sustainability and food security
- Conserving biodiversity and river health
