Staff can enjoy discounts on services provided by professional partners which have been and will continue to be developed by UWS. These may change from time to time and may be withdrawn at any time without notice. Please check with the partner direct to determine availability and conditions.

Software

  • Microsoft Software
    UWS staff may purchase individual media sets for some Microsoft software from Insight, for installation on one personal computer located at home.  This software is made available at considerably discounted prices. Terms and Conditions apply.
  • Adobe Creative Suite (staff login required)
    UWS staff may purchase individual media sets for some Adobe software from Edsoft, for installation on one personal computer located at home. This software is made available at considerably discounted prices. Terms and Conditions apply.

Hardware

Desktop and laptop machines

From time to time vendors offer UWS staff and students discounted pricing for computers bought directly from the vendor's web site. However, at present no offers are available.  When offers become available they can be found at the IT Services Computer Equipment page.

Machines purchased under these offers are not supported by the University. Any purchases are completely private and all details are between you and the vendor. UWS is not responsible for any transaction, warranty, or related issues.

Personal printers

University staff are now able to purchase Fuji Xerox printers at discounted prices.  Order forms can be found at IT Services Computer Equipment page.

Health and First Aid

    Save on health cover with MBF via the Corporate Health Plan offered to UWS staff.
  • NIB Corporate Health Plan (staff login required)
    UWS has negotiated a discounted rate with nib for all employees via the UWS Corporate Health Plan.

    Surf Life Saving NSW is offering family and friends of UWS staff members discounts on Senior First Aid Training.

Salary Packaging

Salary packaging (sometimes referred to as salary sacrificing) allows an employee to receive part of their salary in the form of benefits which reduces PAYG tax. The University pays for particular benefits on your behalf from your total gross wage, rather than you paying for the benefits from your nett wage.

Staff are able to utilise UWSs negotiated rates for personal travel but must meet all associated private costs personally.

    Thrifty Car Hire has discounts offered to all universities year round at fixed low rates.  The rates are available Australia wide and can be used by staff (for both business and private travel) and by students.
  • Accommodation Deals (staff login required)
    WTP and their six University clients have negotiated accommodation rates for Mirvac Hotels and Resorts group and the Stella Group.
  • Agent/Airlines (staff login required)
    Staff can utilise the discounted fares on offer via this arrangement but must meet all associated private costs personally.
