I have been with the University of Western Sydney since 1989 and prior to that I was a secondary mathematics teacher in various New South Wales secondary schools. My areas of expertise are in the learning and teaching of mathematics and statistics. I specialise in the teaching of these disciplines to first-year students.
My research area reflects my teaching interests. Currently I am involved in various projects that are examining the effects of maths anxiety and test phobia on the performance of students, and seeking effective strategies to reduce the impact of these.
