Baulkham Hills Shire Council Scholarship for Local Residents

In partnership with UWS, Baulkham Hills Shire Council is committed to supporting future development of the area by providing a scholarship for a young local resident wishing to undertake tertiary education.

Available: There is 1 scholarship in 2009

Scholarship Benefits: $5 000 for one year

Duration: Paid in two instalments for one year only

Course(s): A range of full-time undergraduate degrees at the Hawkesbury Campus*

Eligibility to apply

Applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia;
  • Be a commencing student starting at UWS for the first time; and
  • Currently reside in, or at least resided in the Baulkham Hills Local Government Area* during the year in which your HSC was undertaken.

Application Process and Selection: Applicants should apply using the Group B – Donor Funded Scholarships Application Form available on the How to Apply webpages.

Applicants must ensure that they complete the personal statement section of the application which requires you to outline your interest and/or experience in a food or related industry. Selection of this scholarship will be determined on the basis of the highest UAI.

Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients must remain in full-time study (40 credit points of study per semester) and maintain a minimum GPA of four (pass average).

Bachelor of Agriculture Bachelor of Horticulture
Bachelor of Animal Science Bachelor of Science
Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) Bachelor of Environmental Management and Science
Bachelor of Science with a specialisation in one of the following:
  • Advanced Science

  • Food Science

  • Nutrition and Food

  • Forensic Science
