Dean’s Scholars

 
Dean’s Scholars provides opportunities for exceptional students who have achieved outstanding results in their HSC (or equivalent); or students who are currently enrolled in an appropriate UWS undergraduate advanced degree. You will be provided with a tailored mentoring and advanced academic study program designed to extend your knowledge and understanding of key disciplines. You will also, if appropriate, be provided with an accelerated study pathway enabling you to complete your studies in less time.

Scholarship Benefits: $5 000 per year (or part-time equivalent)

Duration: Up to four years full-time (or part-time equivalent) including Honours

  • Bachelor of Arts (Dean’s Scholars Program)
  • Bachelor of Computer Science (Advanced)
  • Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership)
  • Bachelor of Science (Advanced)
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Advanced)
  • Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced)

Eligibility to apply:

Applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa;
  • Have applied through UAC for a place at UWS, nominating one of the above listed undergraduate advanced degrees as one of their first three preferences;
  • Demonstrate a high level of academic achievement through a minimum UAI 90 or equivalent;

OR

  • Be currently enrolled in one of the above listed UWS undergraduate advanced degrees and have maintained a GPA of five (credit average) in the previous year; OR
  • Have been accepted to transfer into one of the above listed UWS undergraduate advanced degrees and have maintained a GPA of five (credit average) in the previous year; and
  • Currently reside in or have completed their HSC within the Greater Western Sydney region, as defined by UWS (see eligible postcode listing).

Application Process and Selection: There is no application for these scholarships, selection of these scholarships will be determined on the basis of highest UAI or highest GPA to the maximum number awardable.

Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients must remain in full-time (40 credit points per semester) or part-time (20 credit points per semester) study and maintain a minimum GPA of five (credit average).

Recipients will be expected to complete an Honour’s year and will receive advice and mentoring to help you prepare for your Honour’s project.

Recipients will be invited to participate in the academic and research life of the College including attending at symposia and academic seminars. Recipients will meet with the Executive Dean and the senior leadership of the College at regular intervals to discuss studies and to explore opportunities for further advancement.

Recipients are automatically invited to participate in the Aspire Leadership Program.
