Gilder Nursing Scholarships

The late Miss Dorothy Gilder provided a number of generous donations to the Hawkesbury Foundation in order to financially assist students studying Nursing on the Hawkesbury Campus of UWS. Her contribution assists multiple students each year, providing them not only with financial aid, but encouragement within their studies.

Available: There are 2 scholarships in 2009

Scholarship Benefits: $3 000 for one year

Duration: Paid for one year only

Course(s): A full-time Bachelor of Nursing

Eligibility to apply

Applicants must:

  • Be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia;
  • Be currently enrolled in either your second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing: and
  • Be in receipt of a Centrelink, Youth or Abstudy allowance.

Application Process and Selection: Applicants should apply using the Group B – Donor Funded Scholarships Application Form available on the How to Apply webpages.

Applicants must ensure that they provide, as part of their application, a copy of their most recent academic transcript and any certified evidence of any work experience undertaken. Selection of this scholarship will be on the basis of academic merit and demonstrated financial disadvantage.

Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients must remain in full-time study (40 credit points of study per semester) and maintain a minimum GPA of four (pass average).
