
The Kable family have been active participants in the vegetable sector of the Horticulture Industry for over 45 years. Starting out in wholesale marketing at Flemington Markets, for the past 15 years the family has progressed into vegetable production through their Tasmanian based farm. The Kable family is an ardent supporter of the industry and wish to ensure its future growth and development. By seeking to support a high achieving, dedicated future graduate with a balanced mix of academic and practical skills, the family are hoping to contribute to the ongoing success and longevity of their industry.

Scholarship Benefits: $5 000 per year plus work experience placement*
Duration: Up to three years

Application Process and Selection: Applicants should apply using the Group B – Donor Funded Scholarships Application Form available on the How to Apply webpages.
Applicants must also provide a portfolio of work which demonstrates their leadership qualities and a keen interest in the horticulture industry.
Selection of this scholarship will be determined on the basis of your academic record and submitted portfolio. Short-listed applicants may be required to attend an interview and must ensure their availability to attend.
Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients must remain in full-time study (40 credit points of study per semester) and must pass all units in the first year of study. Continuation of the scholarship for subsequent years will be subject to the recipient maintaining a satisfactory academic record as determined by the Head of School.
*Recipients will be invited to participate in a period of work experience during their vacations, at the Kable Farm in Tasmania. Travel costs, accommodation and meals will be covered under this scholarship. There will also be a level of payment whilst undertaking work experience, which would be negotiated.
Note – it is not a condition of the Scholarship that the recipient undertakes work experience at the Farm.
