The Blue Mountains Youth Council SmartStart Scholarship in Engineering

The Blue Mountains City Council is based in Katoomba, New South Wales, and serves 26 townships in a local government area of 1433 square kilometres.

Blue Mountains City Council is committed to improving the harmony between urban development and the environment, while conserving cultural heritage and responding to the needs of residents, visitors and the business community.

Available: There is one scholarship in 2009

Scholarship Benefits: $2 000 (paid in two equal instalments)

Recipients may be offered work experience with the Blue Mountains City Council.

Duration: For one year only

Course(s): Full-time Bachelor of Engineering

Eligibility to apply:

Applicants must: 

• Be Australian Citizens or permanent residents;
• Be a commencing student starting at UWS for the first time;
• Have achieved a UAI of 70+; and
• Currently live within the Blue Mountains City Council Local Government area.
  

Application Process and Selection: You should apply using the UWS Donor Application Form (Group B) available on the UWS Scholarship Undergraduate website.

Selection of this scholarship will be determined on the basis of the highest UAI.

Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients must remain in full-time study in Bachelor of Engineering and maintain a minimum GPA of four (pass average) at the end of first semester in order to receive the second payment.

Recipients must continue to reside within the specified local government area.
