UWS Sport Scholarships

Through uwsconnect, the University of Western Sydney offers sport scholarships to students either entering or continuing an undergraduate or postgraduate course.

UWS is a member of the Australian Sports Commissions’ Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Network. Facilitated through uwsconnect Ltd, this Elite Athlete Support Program is aimed at providing support to athletes to balance their sporting and academic commitments whilst at UWS.

Scholarship recipients receive financial assistance and have access to modern fitness facilities, academic counselling, personal development seminars, academic support and liaison, and networking links and opportunities.

Scholarship Benefits: $500 - $2 000

Duration: One-Off Payment

Course(s): Any UWS undergraduate degree program

Eligibility to apply:

Applicants must:

• Be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents; and
• Be athletes competing at a state or national (school, age and/or open) championship level who are recognised by the relevant national sporting body as elite or who have development potential.
  

Application and Selection Process: Application forms, along with further information regarding these scholarships, are available from the uwsconnect website.

Selection of successful applicants will be made through a competitive application process and assessment by a selection committee. Additional information may be requested by the applicant’s sporting body.

Conditions of the Scholarship: Recipients are expected to represent their University sports club and maintain a successful academic record.
