Dean's Welcome Message
Welcome
Welcome to the School of Business at the University of Western Sydney.
The school provides innovative and comprehensive business education to the Greater Western Sydney region and beyond, offering a distinctive range of professionally accredited and industry-recognised courses designed to lead to successful and fulfilling careers in the field of business both in Australia and in the global market place.
The School of Business prides itself on maintaining a high level of community engagement and industry involvement in the Greater Western Sydney region.
The school provides coursework and research programs at undergraduate and postgraduate level in seven program areas - Accounting, Economics and Finance, Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations (HRM and IR), Management, Marketing and International Business (IB), and Property. The postgraduate courses offered by the schools are administered by the Sydney Graduate School of Management.
Teaching and research activities in these program areas are formed by close links with industry, giving our courses a high degree of relevance with employers, and ensuring innovative and progressive course content. Our courses are well-recognised by business and the professions for their relevance and applied nature, and where appropriate, are accredited by the relevant bodies.
The school has active links with universities throughout Asia, the Pacific, Europe and the USA. These provide a range of opportunities for in-country study, study abroad, and staff and student exchange, as well as academic collaboration and research. Close links with industry and community groups enable us to offer a variety of donor funded and University scholarships for talented students. Some of these scholarships are specific for certain courses or areas of study, while others use more general criteria. Some of the scholarships of particular interest to business students are:
- UWS School of Business Academic Excellence Scholarship
- UWS School of Business Merit Equity Scholarship
- Macarthur Public Accountants Discussion Group Scholarship.
