Management Program
Welcome to the Academic Program of Management at the School of Business, University of Western Sydney.
Few roles are more integral to business success than management. Regardless of your seniority, when you're a manager, you're responsible and accountable for the performance of your team and its success. With modern unit choices and materials, industry-based projects and placements, a flexible course structure, and a balance of theory and practical field studies, you will have the best preparation to be career-ready when you enter the world of business with a UWS business degree in management.
A UWS degree in Management will give you a broad understanding of the concepts and practices of management combined with a sound knowledge of the functional areas of business. It will improve your decision-making skills, as well as strategic competencies required for management in different areas. It will equip you with critical analytical skills in areas such as cross-cultural management, organisational analysis and design for improved performance, knowledge management, power and politics.
Our management program offers both general and specialised instruction to provide graduates with the opportunity to enter service, manufacturing and not-for-profit organisations, as well as offering programs targeted at the Sport and Hospitality industries.

Students completing our Bachelor of Business and Commerce Management program are required to undertake one of the majors listed above together with a major or sub-major in another approved discipline to enrich and complement the management knowledge.
To expand career choices in management, students might consider adding a sub-major in one of the following to their program of study in management, sport management or hospitality management:

Teaching and Research
The Management program places a strong emphasis on teaching quality and innovation. Course management meetings of staff regularly revise subjects based on student feedback and current research, and a number of our staff have won teaching excellence awards. Staff in the Management discipline undertake research in sustainability, corporate governance, ethics, bullying, organisational capabilities, identity, work-life balance, logistics, services operations management, organisational development, gastronomy, strategy and innovation. They draw on this knowledge and their strong links with industry to create dynamic, engaged and current units that make up our program.
