Current UWS student applying for Master of Urban Management and Planning

Direct applications for the Master of Urban Management and PlanningStudents enrolled in 1678 Bachelor of Social Science (Pathway to Urban Management and Planning) studying their final units, expecting to complete their degree this session and interested in a career in planning can apply directly to the School of Social Sciences for the Masters of Urban Management and Planning course.

Students currently completing the UWS Bachelor of Social Science (Pathway to Urban Management and Planning) will be contacted by the Head of Program regarding entry into the Master of Urban Management and Planning course.

All other students studying their final units, expecting to complete their degree this session and interested in a career in teaching should apply through UAC. (opens in a new window)

You should be completing a UWS undergraduate degree.  The appropriateness of the studies taken in the first degree must be consistent with the qualifications standards set by the Planning Institute of Australia.

Who is eligible to apply?

To apply for the Master of Urban Management and Planning you need to be completing the Bachelor of Social Science (Pathway to Master of Urban Management and Planning).  If you would like more information please email School Enquiries or Dr Peter Phibbs (Head of Program)

How do I apply?

If you are completing your undergraduate degree this session (final units to be completed in Spring, 2H or Q4 2010) you can apply for the Master of Urban Management and Planning.  The “Straight into Planning’ initiative can give you a provisional offer into the Master of Urban Management and Planning without the need to apply through UAC.

If you are interested in receiving a direct officer in planning, you’ll need to collect and submit the “Straight into Planning” application from the School of Social Science Administration Office between 1 October and 24 December.

If you are not currently studying at UWS, you will need to apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).  All current International students must lodge an application through UWS International.
