
Danuta Chessor is a lecturer in psychology. She teaches in the Post Graduate program in areas of psychological intervention and assessment as well as counselling psychology. She has a strong interest in well-being and mental health. Her work at the university includes being Course Adviser for Research Higher Degree students as well as placement coordinator for the Masters students completing the Educational and Developmental as well as Forensic Psychology programmes.
Research interests include the well being of gifted children as well as the mental health of children and adolescents. She has 15 years of experience working with children and adolescents as a school psychologist in both the public and private sector. This experience spans the developmental age of pre-school to 18 year olds.
As a member of the PsyHealth Research group, she has been part of a team that has completed some evaluative research in the area of community involvement of a football club enhancing the well-being of children and parents in the community.
