Diversities, Ethics and Education

Mission
Our aim is to advance interdisciplinary knowledge and theory in ways that reshape educational policy, improve professional practices and make a positive difference to the lives of young people, their families, educators and communities in Greater Western Sydney and beyond. This is an epistemological, pedagogical and ethical project of engaged research with diversity to build ethical relationships among young people and communities in an era of dramatic social, cultural, economic and political change.
Vision
Our work with diverse, and often marginalised, individuals and communities in Greater Western Sydney and beyond, addresses the complex intersections between issues of race, gender, sexual and cultural diversity, and discrimination.
We deal with every-day, and often contentious, issues such as racism, sexual violence, gender discrimination and educational exclusion and inequity.
We aim to make a sustainable difference to the lives of young people and their communities through engagement with teachers, school systems, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, professional associations, families, communities and policy makers.
