What can I expect during my Podiatric consultation?
The UniClinic is a student training facility for undergraduate and postgraduate students. The students will be supervised by highly trained and skilled podiatrists to ensure a high standard of professional care to the public. You will be asked about your current problem, general health status and previous history relating to your condition. A detailed clinical and biomechanical examination will be conducted to assess your presenting problem. This information will be discussed with the clinical supervisor to determine a diagnosis and treatment plan. The treatment plan will be discussed with you so that it is tailored to suit your daily needs, activities, lifestyle and budget. Treatment may include general nail and hard skin treatments, minor nail surgery, taping and strapping, lower extremity exercises or the fabrication of orthoses.
