PDHPE

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) is located on the Penrith campus. This degree brings together a comprehensive foundation of health sciences, understanding of physical activity and personal development, and skills in interacting with diverse people. The PDHPE team consists of five academic staff, one technical officer, and a School Program Administrative Coordinator.

Research: The PDHPE team conducts research across a broad array of topics, including physical activity promotion, motor skill development and coaching.

Facilities: PDHPE students have access to a new gymnasium, dance and gym studio facilities, and a dedicated research and teaching laboratory.

Career Opportunties: The Bachelor of Health Science (PDHPE) program is a popular pathway to a Master of Teaching (Secondary), and then on to a teaching career. Alternatively, graduates work as personal trainers and sports coaches, for example, and new opportunities are opening up in community-based recreation.
Course: PDHPE staff teach a degree program, Bachelor of Health Science (PDHPE), and are actively involved in the supervision of research performed by Honours, Masters and PhD students.
