Biography

Caleb Wegener is a podiatrist and graduated from the University of Western Sydney (UWS) with first Class honours and was awarded the Ted and Grace Renton Memorial Prize for excellence in biomechanics. His honours thesis investigated running shoe biomechanics and was published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine. Caleb has worked as a practicing podiatrist in a variety of areas including high risk foot clinics and sports medicine practice. While working at Sydney’s Westmead Hospital Caleb coordinated a randomised controlled trial into the effects of sports footwear and foot orthoses on foot pain and activity levels in people with diabetes. Caleb is currently in the final stages of his PhD investigating the biomechanics of children’s shoes at the University of Sydney. He continues to combine clinical practice with his research.
