Biography

Gordon Hendry joined UWS as a lecturer in Podiatric Medicine at the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences in February 2011. He successfully completed his Arthritis Research UK funded PhD studentship at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK in October 2011.  Gordon has previously worked as a podiatrist in the clinical setting for the Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS trust, and as a research assistant at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Teaching Interests

Since 2006 Gordon has taught various clinical and academic podiatry units at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including subjects such as: lower limb biomechanics, functional anatomy, gait analysis, musculoskeletal conditions, research methods, paediatrics, gerontology and sports podiatry.

2011: Best Research Poster at the 2011 Australian Podiatry Conference

2011: Recipient of the 2011 British Health Professionals in Rheumatology/Arthritis Research UK Silver Medal Research Prize – awarded for a submitted piece of research of the highest quality and greatest overall contribution to rheumatology. 

2010: Winner of the Alllied Health Professionals Bursary from the British Health Professionals in Rheumatology (BHPR) to attend the BSR/BHPR annual conference.
