Rosemary Nicholson joined UWS in 1987 with a background in Environmental Health practice. Since that time she has been actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate Environmental health teaching and curriculum development. In 2003 she completed a Masters of Public Health by research at University of New South Wales with a thesis titled "Oh What a Tangled Web....building capacity for environmental health action in Australia".
Rosemary is the Head of Program for the Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health) and Key Program Advisor for the three Bachelor of Natural Sciences environmental Key programs in Environment and Health, Environmental Management and Nature Conservation. In 2008 Rosemary was appointed School Learning and Teaching Fellow. In this role she is responsible for facilitating the roll-out of the 2009 UWS criteria and standards-based Assessment Policy within the School of Natural Sciences.
Rosemary contributes to the School of Natural Sciences with ongoing curriculum development, the strengthening of academic support structures to meet the educational needs of Indigenous students and the development of curriculum that effectively embeds the UWS Indigenous Graduate Attribute within the Bachelor Natural Science program.
Food Safety, Health promotion, Community education, Indigenous environmental health.
Current areas of teaching: Food Safety and Environment and Health, including environmnetal education and health promotion.
Member of the Environmenatal Health Australia Environmental Health Educator's forum and Environmental Health course accreditation panel for La Trobe University.
