Graduated with BA from Macquarie University (1977), MScAg from Sydney University (1983) and PhD from Sydney University (1989). Author of over 200 scholarly works in books, international journals, conference proceedings and industry journals. Served as Dean/Head of School between 1996 to 2006, and currently hold the position of Professor of Animal Science. Supervised 14 higher degree research students to completion, with a further 3 yet to complete, and 12 completed honours students.
I worked in the Veterinary Science Faculty at the University of Sydney from 1970-1991, before transfering to the University of Western Sydney as a Lecturer in Animal Science. I have spent 2 periods of sabbatical leave in New Zealand (1991 and 1998), where I worked on development of controlled breeding techniques in farmed deer, and subsequently on their nutritional requirements.
