Biography

Sungwon Chang is a Lecturer in the School of Biomedical and Health Sciences at the University of Western Sydney. In addition to teaching in the area of research methods and biostatistics, Sungwon works extensively on a range of health services research projects involving her biostatistical and public health expertise. In particular, Sungwon has been an active participant in the Cardiovascular and Chronic Disease Research Group involving in a number of cardiovascular projects. Sungwon’s specific areas of statistical experience relate to the research of large data set management and collection. In addition, Sungwon has advanced skills in sampling, psychometric testing procedures and multivariate analysis including structural equation modelling. She is also a student member of the Institute of Palliative and Supportive Care Research Alliance, a collaborative initiative of Curtin University, Flinders University and Edith Cowan University

Research

As part of her PhD studies in ‘An integrated approach to outcome evaluation: Incorporating Patient Reported OUTCOMES in heart failure (PRO-OUTCOMES Study)’ Sungwon is exploring a range of measures in clinical trials including composite endpoints. She is collaborating with clinicians on analysing a large data base for heart failure outcomes.
