Biography
Allison Weir is an Associate Professor in the School of Humanities and Languages and a member of the Centre for Citizenship and Public Policy. Before coming to UWS in 2010 she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and the Program in Gender and Women Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada. She has also taught at Concordia University in Montreal and the University of Dundee, Scotland, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Frankfurt, Germany, supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst. She received her PhD and MA degrees from York University, in the Interdisciplinary Program in Social and Political Thought, and her BA Honours degree from the University of Toronto, where she was awarded the Governor General?s Medal of Canada.
