Research

Susanne's research spans diverse topics and a broad range of qualitative methodologies. She has contributed to the development of innovative methods including collective biography or memory work, autoethnography, poetic and narrative inquiry and has written extensively on poststructural and feminist theories and their methodological implications. She takes up cultural studies and discourse analytic approaches to analyse all sorts of texts including feature and documentary film and television, advertisements, newspapers, theatre texts, YA and children's fiction and information texts, and policy. She is particularly interested in how theories of affect and matter are impacting on educational research.
