Biography

Dr Kathleen Dixon is a senior lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery and holds the position of Director of Academic Workforce on Hawkesbury campus.  Kathleen is a registered nurse and an experienced academic having taught in both undergraduate and post graduate nursing education. She began her academic career at UWS in 1987, prior to that she worked in a range of acute care clinical settings.  Kathleen has been a member of the Nurses and Midwives Tribunal and Professional Standards Committee since 1996 and has been appointed to Chair Professional Standards Inquiries.  Her PhD thesis examined how the unethical conduct of the nurse was constructed by the Nurses Tribunal in New South Wales.  Kathleen is currently engaged in research related to enhancing postgraduate literacy skills, examining issues for sessional teaching staff and evaluating  diabetes education.
