Biography

Dr Kenan Matawie completed his PhD and MStats at University of New South Wales. He Joined UWS as a Lecturer in Statistics in 2000. Kenan is an academic statistician with interest in application of statistics, particularly statistical modelling, advance data analysis and developing statistical methods motivated by real-world problems. He has taught a wide variety of graduate and postgraduate courses in statistics, particularly for Science and Business. He has also supervised more than 15 PhD and MSc research students. Most of Dr Matawie’s research and consulting was generated from application in health, business, management, psychology and Information Technology.

Kenan is actively involved in the professional societies and international scientific committees and journal publication review. He was an executive committee member 2003-2006 of the International Statistical Modelling Society and chair/coordinator for the 20th International Conference on Statistical Modelling.
