Biography

Dr. Kenny Wang holds a PhD in Second Language Acquisition, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons. I & University Medal) and a Bachelor of Arts (Interpreting & Translation) from University of Western Sydney. His doctoral thesis investigated the acquisition of the English passive voice by Mandarin speakers from a developmental perspective. He is also a NAATI accredited Mandarin <-> English interpreter and translator. His research interests include community interpreting, subtitling, the discourse-pragmatics interface in first and second language acquisition and second language processing.

Dr. Kenny Wang is also interested in comparing different English and Chinese Bible translations of various religious denominations. He has photo-reproduced and made available on the internet several antique translations of the Bible in Classical Chinese (Wen-li) and in a number of Chinese dialects that are held at the National Library of Australia and the State Library of New South Wales.
