Biography

Dr Maggie Clarke was a secondary school teacher for nineteen years in the Western Sydney region of Sydney. She held leadership positions in schools including Leading Teacher and Acting Principal. Dr Clarke was appointed to the University of Western Sydney in 1997. She is currently the Co-ordnator of the Education Knowledge Network in the School of Education whiich is an endorsed provider of professional learning for the NSW Institute of Teachers.  She has undertaken the responsibilities of Academic Co-ordinator of Professional Experiences in three programs and she has been Chair of the School of Education Professional Experiences Committee. Dr Clarke has been a Unit Co-ordinator for a number of courses and has played a key leadership role in curriculum development. Her teaching has been in the disciplines of education and in particular in the areas of secondary education and pedagogies. Dr Clarke has been a representative on UWS Senate, Chair of the School Academic Committee and Deputy Chair of the College of Arts Examinations, Assessment and Progressions Committee.
