Biography
Dr Michel Edenborough has a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) degree with distinction, and Social Science (Hons) first class. Michel’s PhD was conferred in 2008, a mixed methods study titled Prevalence, experience and nature of child-to-mother violence in a high-risk geographical area. She is an early career researcher with a strong grounding in diverse research methodologies in both quantitative and qualitative paradigms. Michel is currently working for the School of Social Sciences and Psychology at the University of Western Sydney as a Lecturer, teaching in Social Work and Community Welfare. Formerly she was the Project Manager, Aged Care and Palliation (ACAP) Research Stream managing a multi-site aged care and palliation intervention study titled Avoiding "high tech" through "high touch" in end-stage dementia: Protocol for care at the end of life, a grant funded by the Local Palliative Care Grants Program, Department of Health and Ageing. In addition, she worked for the Family and Community Health (FaCH) Research Group at the University of Western Sydney as a Senior Research Officer. Michel is experienced in supporting research colleagues and Higher Degree Research and Honours candidates and mentoring research interns, as well as planning, coordinating and facilitating research activities. Her fields of interests include support for vulnerable families, family and community health, as well as issues in parenting, family violence, aged care and palliation.
