Biography
As Deputy Dean, I am responsible for the management of the Learning and Teaching portfolio within the School of Business. As an experienced educator with over 20-years experience in teaching and learning at a tertiary level (in Australia and New Zealand), my contributions to learning and teaching have been recognised with a national teaching citation. I am also a co-author on the leading international textbook in marketing (Australian edition) with Philip Kotler, Stewart Adam and Gary Armstrong (Principles of Marketing 5e). With particular interests in developing engaged and accessible learning programs, I am currently working with academic leaders in the School and across the University on a major curriculum enhancement project which is exploring aspects of embedded work in learning activities, blended learning and curriculum mapping.
My research focuses on inter-organisational information exchange and its impacts on the collaborative processes within these relationships and the networks in which they are embedded. In particular, I am interested in aspects of governance and the organisation of interfirm relations and the role of knowledge and information in these settings. I am currently exploring methodologies and analytical strategies for the investigation of these phenomena. I am also generalising much my work at the relationship level to an inter-organisational network context, with particular application to knowledge in innovation network settings. I have recently (2012) published work dealing with the use of simulation and modelling to explore successful innovation networks. Other recent and forthcoming publications focus on other research projects in luxury branding and word of mouth communication.
