Biography

Dr Sepani Senaratne joined the Construction management discipline in the  School of Engineering at the University of Western Sydney in December 2012. Dr Senaratne has over 10 years of teaching experience as a university lecturer in Sri Lanka and also as a part-time lecturer in UK, while she was pursuing her PhD.  She obtained her PhD from the School of the Built Environment, University of Salford, United Kingdom in 2005. Her first degree is in Quantity Surveying from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. She is an Associate Member of Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors since June 2009.

Research

Dr Senaratne has published peer-reviewed research papers in leading journals and conferences covering several areas in construction management. Her research interests mainly fall into three areas: knowledge management, construction project management and organisation management in construction. Dr Senaratne is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board in the Emerald journal -International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment. She has also been a regular reviewer for a number of leading international journals and conferences. Dr Senaratne has served as a co-chairperson of several scientific committees in international research conferences held in Sri Lanka.
