Biography

Dr. Xiao-Hua (Sean) Jin joined the School of Engineering at the University of Western Sydney as a Senior Lecturer in Project Management in October 2011. Prior to that, he worked at the School of Architecture and Building at Deakin University, the School of Architectural Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Victoria University, and the Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne. Sean pursued his doctoral degree in the area of risk management in public-private partnership infrastructure projects at the University of Melbourne. His Masters degree was also obtained by research, in the area of construction partnering. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree of Engineering (Construction) at Shanghai Tongji University, China. Sean had also worked as a project manager in Shanghai China.

Research

Dr Xiao-Hua (Sean) Jin's main research interests include construction economics; project management; risk management; infrastructure procurement; relational contracting (PPP, partnering); ICT in construction (artificial intelligence techniques, decision support system); and sustainable built environment. Dr Jin has published over fifty technical articles, including those published in internationally renowned journals such as Journal of Construction Engineering and Management (ASCE), Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering (ASCE), Construction Management and Economics, International Journal of Project Management, and Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering. He received Building Research Excellence Award by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). He is a Member of the Australia Institute of Project Management and was an Incorporate Member of the CIOB. Dr Jin has served as an expert referee for Australian government. He is also a regular referee for Journal of Construction Engineering and Management (ASCE), Construction Management and Economics, Engineering, Construction and Architectural Management, Computer-Aided Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, and Australian Journal of Civil Engineering.
