Biography
Chris joined University of Western Sydney in 2004 and is currently the Course Advisor for Industrial Design degrees. He started a teaching fellow in the areas of Environmental Management Product Design and Manufacturing. He develops and delivers teaching material for Design & Technology and Industrial Design degrees and is implementing Rapid Prototyping in the School of Engineering and Industrial Design.
Chris' experience has been involved with the coordination and design of research projects, cleaner production projects and the development of educational strategies on issues such as watershed management, marine ecosystems, atmospheric modelling odour modelling (mushroom composting) and grey water. This involved community & government consultation using conflict resolution skills, so as to ensure a comprehensively and proactively obtain an overview of both the long and short term activities, thus providing real cost effective solutions to local communities, industry and government departments (Senator Hill, Pam Allen and Dr John Cole of EMIAA).
Chris demonstrates the proper use of 3D Studio Workshop equipment and related safety procedures to students, plus he supervises labs, tutorials in Rapid Prototyping, Patent law, Materials and Vacuum Casting. He also compiles and initiates quotes for proposals for new equipment, updating of 3D Studio workshop equipment.
