Biography

After completing my initial teacher education in 1975 I worked as a primary school teacher with the NSW Department of Education. In 1989 I became a consultant with the Department of Education in the area of Science and Technology Education working on the development of professional development programs for primary teachers to support the implementation of the K-6 Science and Technology Syllabus. During this time, in conjunction with UWS I developed the state-wide PRIMESTEP professional development program. In 1992, after completing an M.Ed I took up an academic teaching position at Macquarie University and in 1994 joined the School of Education at the University of Western Sydney. I have worked extensively and continuously with schools and educational organisations in the areas of science and technology and computer education.
